Terms and Conditions

Last updated: May 2025

1. About us

Stockport Suspended Ceilings is a sole trader business operating from Bredbury, Stockport. These terms govern all quotations, contracts and works carried out by Stockport Suspended Ceilings.

2. Quotations

All written quotations are valid for 30 days from the date of issue unless otherwise stated. Quotes are fixed-price and based on the specification agreed at the time of survey. Any changes to scope, specification or site conditions after a quote is accepted may result in a revised price, which will be agreed in writing before work proceeds.

3. Installation guarantee

All installation work carried out by Stockport Suspended Ceilings is covered by a 5-year workmanship guarantee from the date of practical completion. The guarantee covers:

  • Grid alignment and levelness
  • Fixing and hanger integrity
  • Tile fitting and seating within the grid
  • Perimeter trim installation

The guarantee does not cover:

  • Damage caused by water ingress or leaks from above
  • Damage caused by third-party interference, including other trades working above the ceiling after handover
  • Tile damage from accidental impact or misuse
  • Normal wear and discolouration of tiles over time

All guarantees are issued in writing on completion of works.

4. Payment terms

Payment terms are agreed on a per-contract basis and confirmed in writing before work begins. Unless otherwise agreed, invoices are due within the period stated on the invoice. Late payment may result in work being paused until the account is brought up to date.

5. Insurance

Stockport Suspended Ceilings carries full public liability insurance. Details of our insurance cover are available on request prior to works commencing. We recommend clients confirm their own site insurance remains in place during any installation.

6. Access and site conditions

The client is responsible for ensuring adequate and safe access to the work area at the agreed time. Where access cannot be provided due to site conditions outside our control, we reserve the right to charge for abortive attendance. Any hazardous conditions (asbestos, structural issues, unsafe access) must be disclosed prior to works commencing.

7. Liability

Our liability is limited to the value of the contract for which a claim arises. We are not liable for consequential loss, loss of revenue or indirect losses arising from delays or defects, except where required by law.

8. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes arising from contracts entered into with Stockport Suspended Ceilings shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
